Tina Newlove - Featured Artist

My work observes the crossing paths of families and communities. Locally and globally life choices, circumstance and environmental factors challenge and overlap boundaries. Like a wild flow chart the actions of one can gently influence another or have a wide impact with far reaching consequences. In my paintings the composition of figures, buildings and landscapes emerge from layers of complicated relationships.
– Tina Newlove

Tina Newlove offers unique and thought-provoking original, contemporary artwork for corporate and private collectors. An award-winning artist working in oils, watercolour, collage, assemblage and bronze sculpture from her studio in Campbellville, Ontario.

In addition to her studio practice, Tina regularly performs live painting shows with bands and musicians including Andrew Hendriks (Automated Soul, In the Red, – electronic music), Gregory Hoskins (singer/songwriter) and Tribe of One (Canadian performance collective). As a founding member of Tribe of One she has traveled to ‘The Gathering of Nations’, Albuquerque, New Mexico, ‘The Return’, Pristina Kosovo and to First Nation reserves in the far north and across Canada; giving her artwork a spirit that remains consistent through all her art pieces.

Tina has exhibited across Canada in public and commercial galleries, and artist-run centres including the Art Gallery of Hamilton, The Frederick Horsman Varley Gallery, The Roberts Gallery, The Leighton Art Centre and The Saint John Arts Centre. Her work is in the City of Toronto’s permanent collection, included in the City of Hamilton’s Public Art Walk Project, and is in the permanent installation of a Pan Am Mural at the Velodrome in Milton, Ontario. Tina’s work has earned her exhibition, travel and education grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. Recently Tina was a Juror for the Ontario Art Council’s Artists in Education program.

Tina Newlove and her unique, colourful art have successfully showcased at The Gallery Upstairs. Tina’s live performance art, and in-person meet and greet sessions bring a personal touch to her one of a kind original artwork.
